Whether you’re stressed about work, school, relationships, money or health concerns everyone can relate to the feeling. According to the Statistic Brain Research Institute, “77% of people regularly feel physical symptoms caused by stress and 73% of people feel psychological symptoms caused by stress.” Stress can certainly be very overwhelming so I put together a list of easy ways that can help you cope with stress.
5.) Drink Tea
Drinking tea is an easy and quick way to begin with stress relief. Most people already have some in their kitchen. There are many different kinds of tea and flavors to choose from. Flavors like chamomile, lavender, lemongrass, and peppermint are known to relax and calm.
Researchers from the Sorbonne University in Paris found that a brief nap was effective in relieving stress and strengthening immune system function. Sometimes you just need to relax and rest your mind even if it’s for a quick 20-minute nap. Plus, any excuse to get more sleep, count me in.
3.) Fresh Air
Sometimes all you need to do is go outside and get some fresh air. It can be refreshing to just take a 5-minute walk outside to clear your mind. A brisk walk really does calm you down by sparking nerve cells in the brain that relax the senses, new research has shown.
2.) Deep Breathes
Deep breathing is not only relaxing, it’s been scientifically proven to affect the heart, the brain, digestion, the immune system. Close your eyes and breathe in and out for a quick way to reduce some anxiety.
Yoga can help you slow your mind and decompress. With yoga you can also cleanse your body, mind, and soul. Even if you are a beginner, you can simply start off with some simple stretches to unwind and loosen up. Yoga will help you go from chaos to calm in no time.
